Pura Vida® was founded in the summer of 2010 when two Southern California friends - Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman - took a graduation trip down to Costa Rica. After catching some waves, they came across two artisans named Jorge and Joaquin, whose colorful string bracelets captured the beauty of Costa Rica. Sadly, Jorge and Joaquin were struggling to survive on their artisan wages, living with their family in a single room with three beds. Desperate to help, Griffin and Paul asked the artisans to make 400 bracelets to take home with them... and the rest is history. Griffin and Paul put the bracelets on display in a local boutique, and it hit them - Pura Vida Bracelets are more than just simple friendship bracelets. Pura Vida is a lifestyle, one that's all about enjoying life's little pleasures, slowing things down, and living life to the fullest. Pura Vida now supports over 650 full time artisans across the world, who can count on a steady income thanks to the support of Pura Vida fans.
